To Manage Custom Properties in a Spec

You can add or remove custom properties for a selected part in a spec.

Add a Custom Part Family Property

  1. In the spec sheet, select a part class (for example, Elbow).
  2. Click Property Editor.
  3. In the Spec Property Editor dialog box, click Manage Properties tab.
  4. Specify the following:
    • Display name
    • Default value
    • Field name
    • Field type
  5. Under Applies to, select Part Family.
  6. Under Add Property to, choose one of the following:
    • Current Part Class. Adds the property to a selected class.
    • All Part Classes. Adds the property to all classes.
  7. Click Add.
  8. A new custom part family property is created.

Add a Custom Part Sizes Property

  1. In the spec sheet, select a part class (for example, Elbow).
  2. Click Property Editor.
  3. In the Spec Property Editor dialog box, click Manage Properties tab.
  4. Specify the following:
    • Display name
    • Default value
    • Field name
    • Field type
  5. Under Applies to, select Part Sizes.
  6. Under Add Property to, choose one of the following:
    • Current Part Class. Adds the property to a selected class.
    • All Part Classes. Adds the property to all classes.
  7. Click Add.
  8. A new custom part family property is created.

Remove a Custom Property in a Spec

  1. In the spec sheet, select a part class (for example, Elbow).
  2. Click Property Editor.
  3. In the Spec Property Editor dialog box, click Manage Properties tab.
  4. Under Added Properties, select a custom property.
  5. Click Remove.
  6. Click OK.
  7. The selected property is removed from the spec.
