Edit Source Properties

Edit your Source's release rate, quantity to produce, and output rate.

To access the Source Properties

1. Select a Source in your process model.
2. Right click and select Show Properties from the context menu.
3. Edit properties from the Source Properties dialog.

Name

When naming your Source, be sure to choose a name that helps you easily identify it in lists and layouts.

Release Rates

The Release Rate indicates whether there is a fixed or variable output from this source. The Source Properties fields change based on your selection from the drop-down menu.

Fixed Release Rate properties

A Fixed release rate indicates a nonvarying output rate and quantity for the resource.

• Quantity: Number of items available from this source. Select Infinite if there is an unlimited supply.
• Output Rate: Number of items the source supplies in the selected unit of time. If the rate can vary, enter the acceptable range as a percentage of the output.
• Variability %: Indicates the acceptable level above or below the mean time setting.

Pattern Release Rate properties

1. Select Pattern to create an output schedule with variable rates and quantities.

2. Complete the table working from left to right to add the time required for the first set of outputs and the number of items supplied.
3. Click + to add a line for the second set of outputs.
4. Select Repeat Schedule to repeat this schedule indefinitely.

Output Routing options are the same as the Output Routing options for a Fixed release rate.
