Sometimes it is useful to define a local coordinate system or datum to help in the measurement of features. For example, when you are measuring a flexible part, it can be difficult to create one alignment that can be used with all the features you want to measure. In PowerInspect, you can create multiple alignments and choose the alignment you want to use for each item in the inspection sequence.
You can choose alignments by:
- specifying the alignment within an item.
- setting the active alignment on the Ribbon.
- setting the active alignment in the inspection sequence.
If there is only one alignment in the inspection sequence, PowerInspect automatically uses that alignment or the last Best Fit item.
