Cutting by plane

The Cut by Plane tool is available for 3D structure types only, including buildings, shells, and 3D-frames.

It allows you to edit or cut objects such as bars or contours along a defined plan. For example, you can use this tool when working with sloped roofs.

Depending on the option selected in the Cut by Plane dialog, you can:
  • Divide contour edges for objects which include a contour such as walls,
  • Create nodes at intersections for bars and contour edges,
  • Split objects,
  • Cut off objects on a specific side of the cutting plane.
Note: The Cut by Plane tool does not work with solids, and objects created with the Extrude, or Revolve commands.
