Annotations Are Not Sketchy

When you apply sketchy lines to a view, annotations (such as dimensions and text) do not appear to be hand-drawn.

Issue: Sketchy lines apply to model elements in a view. They do not apply to annotation elements, such as dimensions, grid lines, levels, text, section markers, elevation tags, and room tags.

Solution: Revit does not provide a way to make dimensions, levels, grid lines, and other annotation elements appear hand-drawn.

If you want to use an informal font for annotation text, create or modify an appropriate family type to use the desired font.

Examples

  • For dimensions, duplicate a dimension type and change its font.
  • For text notes, duplicate an existing text type, and change its font.
  • For room tags, duplicate an existing label type, change its font, and apply the new label type to labels in the room tag family.
