Room Boundaries

Revit uses room boundaries when computing the area, perimeter, and volume of a room.

To check room boundaries in plan views and section views, you can select rooms or change visibility/graphic settings for the view.

  • Control the Visibility of Room Separation Lines
    By default, room separation lines are visible in plan views and 3D views. Use a Visibility/Graphics setting to change their visibility in a view.
  • Use Room Boundaries in a Linked Model
    When linking models together, you can make the host model recognize the Room Bounding parameter of elements in the linked model (including linked Revit models and linked IFC models).
