Learn about the fabrication elements created and controlled by the structural steel connections.
Steel fabrication sub-elements can be:
- Steel Profiles
- Fabrication Elements
- Steel Modifiers
- Standard Steel Connections and Parametric Cuts as part of Custom Connections.
Fabrication sub-elements cannot be edited.
Except for the profile Structural Material parameter and the Coating parameter available only for standard connection sub-elements, none of the other instance parameters are editable.
About the Steel Profile Sub-Element
- The steel profile sub-element is a beam type element created and controlled by a structural steel connection.
- When structural framing is added to a custom connection, it automatically becomes a profile sub-element.
- When the connection is broken, the profile element is transformed into a structural framing element with steel fabrication shape, with a new structural framing family and type, created based on the geometrical characteristics of the profile sub-element and it can have different shapes and types. These shapes and types are automatically loaded from the Steel Connections databases and they are not based on Families and Types.
- Profile sub-elements cannot be changed or edited. The only instance parameter you can change for the profile sub-element is the Structural Material.
