Troubleshooting Outdoor Air (OA) Parameters in Energy Simulation

If the OA (Outdoor Air) parameters are set to zero for analytical spaces originating from Spaces, the simulation will fail.

Steps to Troubleshoot HVAC simulation failing and refining results:

  1. Verify OA Settings in Revit Space Objects - Ensure each space has valid Outdoor Air inputs defined.
  2. Check Building Type Settings - Confirm that default OA values are appropriately set at the Building Type level.
  3. Review System-Zone Assignments - The presence of a System-Zone can override or affect space-level OA settings. If not needed, delete the System-Zone to prevent conflicts.
  4. Ensure Zone-Level OA Alignment - OA settings at the Zone level should align with those defined in the corresponding space objects.
  5. Confirm Lighting and Plug Load Assignments - Make sure lighting and plug load values at the space level follow the configuration defined under “Default per Space.”
