The status bar provides tips or hints on what to do. When you highlight an element or component, the status bar displays the name of the family and type.
The status bar is located along the bottom of the application window.

To hide the status bar
Click View tabWindows panel
User Interface drop-down, and clear the Status Bar check box.
The progress bar appears on the left side of the status bar when a large file is opening. It indicates how much of the file has downloaded.

Other controls appear on the right side of the status bar:

Design Options: Provides quick access to the Design Options dialog. The display field shows the active design option. Use the drop-down list to display another design option. Use the Add to Set tool to add selected elements to the active design option.
Note: The Design Options controls display on the status bar only if design options are enabled for Revit LT.
- Active Only: Filters selections to select only active design option components.
- Exclude Options: Filters selections to exclude components that are part of a design option.
- Select Links: Allows you to select links and individual elements in linked files.
- Select Underlay Elements: Allows you to select elements in an underlay.
- Select Pinned Elements: Allows you to select pinned elements.
- Select Elements by Face: Allows you to select an element by clicking on a face, rather than an edge.
- Drag Elements on Selection: Allows you to move elements by dragging them in the view without selecting them first.
- Background Processes: Displays a list of the processes, such as color fills, running in the background.
- Filter: Refines the element categories selected in a view.
