Edit Joint Coordinates

Description

The coordinates of a single joint (the active row in the Joint Details form) or multiple joints (from a selection in the graphics window) may be edited using this form.

Editing a joint coordinate will change the geometry of all members meeting at the joint.

Outline Procedure

This form is accessed from the Edit command of the Joint Details form.

Select the method of editing:

  • Edit by Entering a Specific Value

The selected joints are moved to the specified coordinate. For example, if 'Z' is checked and the corresponding Z value is (say) 5.0m then on picking Apply the selected joints are moved to lie on the Z=5.0 plane. Check the appropriate checkbox(es) to apply each direction.

  • Edit by Entering an Offset Value

The selected joints are offset by the defined vector (X,Y,Z) from their existing coordinates.

Clicking on the Apply button changes the graphics display to show the modified joint position (giving the option to either re-edit or confirm the edits by clicking OK).

Several edits can be made without leaving this form. After each edit the graphics window is updated.
