Structure Geometry Data
The data lines that may be used to define the section are:
Heading
The heading is:
STRUCTURE GEOMETRY
This line must be present, and must be the first line of the structure geometry data.
Units (optional)
Units for the coordinate data may be entered.
units 'unit'
Sub-heading
The sub-heading is:
JOINT COORDINATES
This line must be present, and must be the first line of the joint coordinate data.
Coordinate data
The coordinate data, with one line for each node, is as follows:
joint ref, x coord, y coord, z coord
Sub-heading
The sub-heading is:
MEMBER INCIDENCES
This line must be present, and must be the first line of the beam element connectivity data.
Member connectivity data
The member connectivity data, with one line for each member, is as follows:
member ref, joint 1, joint 2, ('model group name')
The model group name is optional. If a name is given it must be entered between single quotes.
Sub-heading
The sub-heading is:
FE INCIDENCES
This line must be present, and must be the first line of the shell element connectivity data.
Member connectivity data
The shell element connectivity data, with one line for each element, is as follows:
element ref, joint 1, joint 2, joint 3
element ref, joint 1, joint 2, joint 3, joint 4
Four-node elements must be planar, or reading is prevented with a message.
