What is Tandem Connect™?

A Digital Twin needs access to data

In the evolving landscape of Digital Twins, creating a dynamic, data-rich hub requires robust tools and seamless integrations. IoT devices in the building report realtime information about current conditions, and mission critical applications responsible for things like Space Management and Maintenance Management need to be connected to the Twin. But doing so often involves the development of custom applications, which can be expensive and time consuming.

Tandem Connect – an iPaaS Platfrom

Tandem Connect is an iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service) platform that allows you to easily integrate various IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology) systems into your Tandem Digital Twin.

Tandem Connect is a cloud-based solution that helps organizations integrate different applications, data, and services across various environments (on-premises, cloud, or hybrid). It provides a set of tools, workflows, and connectors to streamline the flow of data and connect disparate systems without requiring a complex custom integration setup.

Pipelines

A Pipeline is a particular workflow authored in Tandem Connect which connects data and logic to/from the Twin.

Pipeline Studio is the UI component of Tandem Connect which lets you author these pipelines. From a set of pre-built plugins, you can simply drag them to the canvas workspace, configure them with certain options and connect them into a workflow.

Once authored, the pipeline is deployed to the Cloud or to a dedicated machine at the edge via another Tandem Connect component called Outpost. There is no need for you to do the complex work of running virtual machines in a Cloud network. Just push the Save and Deploy button and Tandem Connect will take care of the rest!

As an example, here is a simple pipeline that gets the current weather and then sends that data into Tandem

This pipeline is configured to run at a given interval, retrieve the current weather from a popular weather service, and then send that weather data into a particular Tandem facility.
