Streams
Streams in Tandem are used to display time series data of a connected sensor or IoT device. It can be used in conjunction with the Connections panel to select and display charts for each stream of a connection. With a device selected, users can see more information in the Properties panel.
Streaming data can also be shown by toggling between the data Grid and the Charts in the Streams panel. The data grid will show stream information based on the Filters that have been applied.
The grid view displays Stream data in a spreadsheet view similar to Excel. Columns include:
- Name
- Host
- Level
- Rooms
- Issues – This will show alerts based on set Threshold
- Last Reading – This shows the time that data was received by the IoT device and received by Tandem.
- Threshold Values (if the toggle is checked on)
Users will also see columns for the parameters associated to the Stream and the value of the last data reading received.
To adjust the columns displayed, users can use the filter to refine the list of charts quickly.
Additionally, the date selector can refine the date range to the last 30 days, the last week, or a custom period.
To expand an individual chart use the expand icon.
Opening the 3-dot glyph menu, users can also show the last reading that the stream received and threshold lines in the graph.
Overriding Stream Parameters
The Stream configuration has an option where users can override payloads for the most complex connections. When a connection has a different payload but belongs to the same parameter and classification, users can manually override the payloads for that specific sensor. This supports connection configurations for complex payloads with no consistency in values.
This can be done under Configuring Connections. Visit the Configure Connections page to learn more.
