Restore Named Views

You can restore named views previously saved in a drawing.

When a drawing contains views saved by name, you can restore them for viewing and plotting, or when you need to refer to specific details. You restore a named view to the current viewport.

The following settings are saved in named views:

  • Magnification, center point, and view direction
  • View category that you assign to the view (optional)
  • The location of the view (the Model tab or a specific layout tab)
  • Layer visibility in the drawing at the time the view is saved
  • User coordinate system
  • 3D perspective
  • Live section
  • Visual style
  • Background

Procedures

To restore a named view

  1. Do one of the following:
    • If you have more than one viewport in model space, click inside the viewports to contain the restored view.
    • If you are working in a layout, double-click inside a layout viewport in which to restore a model space view.
    • If you are working in a layout, double-click outside all layout viewports to restore a paper space view.
  2. Click Home tab View panel Named Views.
  3. In the View Manager, Views list, select the view that you want to restore.

    Preset views restore standard views for 3D models.

  4. Click Set Current.
  5. Click OK.
