Export flat pattern as DXF
Export a Sheet Metal Flat Pattern as a DXF file and save it to your computer or a project in Fusion.
Open a design that contains a Sheet Metal Flat Pattern or create a new one.
In the Browser, locate the Flat Pattern you want to save as a DXF.
Right-click the flat pattern name and select Activate.
On the toolbar, click Export DXF
.
The Export Flat Pattern As DXF dialog displays.
Select a unit type to export the DXF in.
Note: The design's active unit type is the default for the exported DXF.(Optional) Check Convert Splines to Polylines to enable conversion of splines to polylines, then specify a tolerance:
- Tolerance Enter the maximum allowable deviation between the converted polylines and the original splines.
Specify additional Visible Geometry to include:
- Center Lines: Includes the bend center lines.
- Extent Lines: Includes the bend extent lines.
Click OK.
The Export DXF dialog displays.
(Optional) Enter a new file name.
Specify the file Type option as DXF.
Specify a location to save to.
Click Save.
The flat pattern is exported as a DXF and is saved to the specified location.
Tips
- Use Convert to Polylines if your laser cutter does not support splines.
- Outer profiles, interior profiles, bend center lines, bend extend lines and text will each be assigned to a different layer in the DXF.
