Defines, places, and orients a pipe connector.
This connector command defines, places, and orients a pipe connector on an Autodesk Inventor part or assembly for use with AutoCAD MEP or Revit MEP. BIM Exchange calculates the position of a pipe connector based on its defining geometry.
Shape |
Defines the shape for the pipe connector. If Undefined is selected, any oval, circular, or rectangular face is a valid selection. |
Defining Geometry |
Selects the position and orientation of the connector. Use the Select command to pick the face on the Autodesk Inventor component where you intend to place and position the cable tray connector. The location of the cable connector appears as a cylindrical arrow on the selected part or assembly. Important: Connectors glyphs are similar to assembly mate constraints in that they indicate a mating face or plane. They do not indicate flow direction. Typically, connectors point away from the host component. Use the Direction command to reverse connector direction.

Size |
To specify a connector Diameter, clear the check mark on the Inferred checkbox. In the Diameter field, enter numeric data. Optionally, you can enter numeric data in the Nominal Diameter field. If the Inferred box is checked, the diameter is linked to the size of the selected face. |
System Type |
Select a System Type from the drop-down list. The System Type determines the properties that are available in the Properties area. |
Properties |
Enter values for the desired properties. Connector property data is included in the Autodesk Exchange File (.ADSK). Connector dimension properties are included in the Parameter table. You can add more Connector properties by checking the box in the fx column. You can also manage the parameters from the parameters table. |
