3D equation curves reference

Creates a curve based on specified equations and range.

Access

Ribbon: 3D Sketch tab Draw panel Equation Curve

x(t) or r(t)

Specify x or r as a function of t. For example x(t): t^2.

y(t) or θ(t) or ϕ(t)

Specify y or θ or θ as a function of t. For example, y(t): t^2.

z(t) or θ(a)

Specify z, or θ as a function of t. For example, z(t): t^2.

tmin

Specify the minimum value to evaluate.

tmax

specify the maximum value to evaluate.

Cartesian, Cylindrical, or Spherical

Select the coordinate system to use. Choose from Cartesian (x, y, z) , Cylindrical (r, θ, z) or Spherical (r, ϕ, θ).

Show units

When not checked, the equation is displayed as entered. When checked, the equation is displayed with all units parsed.

Show transform

Available when editing an equation curve. Displays the Position and Rotation values for X, Y, Z. The values are zero until the curve has been moved by dragging, constraints, or dimensions.
