When you do not need to display all the details provided in a part (.ipt) file for an assembly, create a simple representation of the assembly with only the critical information, such as mounting points. Use the Simplify tools to reduce model complexity for easier and faster referencing throughout your design process.
For example, you can simplify a model to:
- Remove intellectual property so the model can be shared with clients without the possibility of reverse engineering.
- Improve performance.
Workflow Overview
- Open an assembly (.iam) file. Click on the Simplify tab.
- Click Include Components and specify components included in the simplified version.
- Define envelopes to replace complex geometry.
- Combine the components into one simplified part.
