Model a multi-cavity mold (tutorial)

A multi-cavity mold has two or more cavities. The cavities may be identical, to produce multiple copies of a part in a single injection cycle, or they may be different (a family mold), to produce related parts in a single injection cycle.

A multi-cavity mold has the capacity to produce several finished parts per injection cycle. It is suitable for producing parts in high volume, or for producing parts that are small.

Note: Throughout this tutorial it is assumed that metric units are used.
To change units:
  1. Click Application button then Options to open the Options dialog.
  2. Select the General tab.
  3. Select Metric units from the Active units drop-down menu.
  4. Click OK.

    Create multiple copies of the Speedo model used in previous tutorials.
  2. Specify properties of the feed system elements
    Specify the sprue, runner and gate properties for the tutorial model.

    Create the sprue, runner and gate configuration for the multi-cavity model you have been working with.
