Administrators can customize the look-and-feel of the thin client as well as some of the behaviors.
Note: Vault Workgroup requires a Vault Office license to use the thin client. Vault Professional provides read-only access through the thin client by default. A Vault Office license is required for read-write access.
- Log into the thin client using an administrator account.
- From the account menu, click Settings.
Administrative Ownership Settings
If you are using a replicated vault in a workgroup, you must first request administrative ownership prior to making changes to the thin client.
- Log into the thin client with read/write access.
- Click Request Ownership.
Page Layout
The banner displayed at the top of the thin client can be customized to show your company logo.
- Click Upload.
- In the Open dialog, locate the image to use as the banner.
- Click Open.
The selected image is resized to 250x30 pixels and displayed at the top of the page
- Click Reset to return to the original Autodesk Vault banner.
Search Settings
By default, only file properties are examined when searching for files. You can perform a more thorough search by also including file contents in the search.
Note: Searching file content can increase the search time.
- Turn on the Search file content check box to include the contents of file when searching.
File and Item Display Settings
You can modify which files and items are displayed on the page.
Note: Items are available only in the Autodesk Vault Professional edition.
- Turn on the Items check box to grant users the access to items.
- Under Items, specify which items to display:
- Turn on the Released items check box to display only the items that are released.
- Turn on the Effective revisions for released items check box to display only the released items that are effective.
- Turn on the Files check box to show all files.
- Under Files, turn on Released file versions to show only the versions that are released.
Note: Since the Uses and Where Used tabs show entire assemblies, any files that are non-released display as non-linked text.
Default Properties
You can configure which properties to display for each view in the thin client. You can also enforce the default properties, preventing users from configuring their views.
- Turn on the Enforce default properties check box to restrict users from customizing which properties are displayed in the thin client. If this check box is turned off, users will see the default properties but will be able to override the defaults and customize which properties are displayed.
- Each view in the thin client is listed in the Default Properties section. Expand a view to see which properties are displayed in the view.
- Click Configure Properties for the view you want to configure.
- In the Available Properties list, select the properties you want to display and then click Add to move them to the list on the right side. In the Selected Properties list, select the properties you want removed and then click Remove.
- Select a property and then click Move Up or Move Down to adjust its display order.
Note: Press CTRL or SHIFT to select multiple properties.
- Click Save Defaults.
