The Parameter Editor: Changing Material and Map Settings

Materials and maps have various parameters you can adjust. To see the parameters for a material or a map, double-click the node. The parameters appear in the Parameter Editor.

The parameters appear on rollouts in the Parameter Editor.

Another way to see the parameters of a child node is to double-click the input socket to which the child node is wired.

While a node's parameters are displayed in the Parameter Editor, in the active View it appears with a dashed border.

Highlight for a node displayed in the Parameter Editor

You can toggle display of the Parameter Editor. Double-clicking a node opens the Parameter Editor, whether it previously was hidden or not.

Note: You can also edit parameters directly in the node display itself. See Show/Hide Slots. In general, the Parameter Editor interface is easier to read and to use. By default, nonmappable components are hidden in the node display.
