Rip dialog box

Defines rip features that accommodate flattening of sheet metal parts.

Rip Type
  • Single Point Specifies a face to rip and a single point along an edge of the face.
  • Point to Point Specifies a face to rip and two points along edges of the face. The points can be work points, midpoints on edges, endpoints on face vertices, or sketched points from a previously created sketch.
  • Face Extents Specifies a model face to remove.
Gap Value
Specifies a value for a gap. Default value is system parameter GapSize.
Note: Available for Single Point and Point to Point rip types only.
Shape
Rip Face
Specifies the model face to which the rip feature is applied.
Rip Point
Specifies a point to define the location of the rip. The label is Rip Point when Rip Type is Single Point.
Start Point
Specifies the first point to define the location of the rip. The label is Start Point when Rip Type is Point to Point.
Note: Not available when Rip Type is Face Extents.
End Point
Specifies the end point of the rip feature when Rip Type is Point to Point.
Note: Not available when Rip Type is Single Point or Face Extents.
Gap Offset Direction
When active during the graphic preview, controls the offsets for the Rip gap. Available for Single Point and Point to Point rip types.
Flip Side or
Offsets the Rip gap to the opposite side of the selected point.
Both Sides
Offsets the Rip gap to both sides of the selected point.
