Build a user library

Content Center data can be edited only in a read/write user library.

Note: If the Content Center libraries are installed on a Vault server, you must be assigned Editor permissions to perform any of the editing tasks and you must be logged into the Vault server

Workflow Overview

1. Create a read/write user library in the Desktop Content location or use the Autodesk Vault Server Console to create a read/write user library on the server.
2. Add the user library to the current configuration.
3. Add content into the user library:
   • Save a copy of families into the user library.
   • Copy family or category data into the user library to enable editing.
   • Create categories.
   • Publish families into the user library.
   • Move content into the user library.
4. Modify content in the user library:
   • Add (or remove) materials in the library.
   • Add or modify family properties.
   • Edit family data in family tables.
   • Customize the file name for families.
   • Add or modify category properties for read/write categories.

Tips:

• Use the navigating commands to find the required object for modification.
• Select Library View to view only the content of the selected Library. Select Merged View to see the content of all libraries.
