To Sort Feature Class Models in the Model Viewer

  1. In the Design Explorer, click the Model Viewer tab.

To display the Design Explorer if it is not already displayed, click Home tabPalettes panelDesign Explorer.

  2. From the drawing list, select the drawing of interest.
  3. Click Design mode.
  4. Expand the feature class of interest, for example, Transformer.

To observe the effect of sorting based on attribute value, you must have several features of the feature class of interest in your design.

  5. Click Re-sort Models or right-click the feature class name and click Re-sort Models.
  6. Click the attribute to sort on from either the Model Attributes list or the Feature Attributes list. You can also click an attribute from the Recent list if available.

For example, you might have five transformers in your design, three with kVA value of 5 and two with a kVA value of 10. If you sort on the kVA attribute, the Model Viewer creates two groups of transformers. One group of 5 kVA transformers containing three models and one group of 10 kVa transformers containing two models. The number of models in an attribute groups is indicated in parentheses after the attribute name in the list.

When you re-sort models, not all attributes are available for sorting. Model name, status, group (if relevant), phase count (if relevant) and style name are always listed. However, if you clear the Show check box for these attributes during Industry Model configuration, they are not listed. If all features share the same value for one attribute, this attribute is not listed. If the number of models in an attribute group is more than fifteen, a warning is displayed since the list can be quite lengthy.

Note: Model attribute values are common to all features of a particular model. Feature attribute values are unique to each instance of feature.
  7. Click Show/Hide model groups as needed.
  8. Click Digitize Feature and then choose a model name to create a new feature from the model group.

Note that available models are limited to those in the model group. Attribute values specific to the group are set.
