Cages - Details

Use the options on the Details tab to define parameters of connections in a cage.

For Vertical bars, define the position of bars with respect to the cage hoop, either Outside or Inside. You can also define the weld thickness for the hoop-vertical bar connection.

For Fixing, select either Welded or Bolted, and then specify parameters of the cage fixing to the ladder bars. For Radius of bending, define the radius of hoop bending at places where the hoop circular shape transforms into straight segments.

Under Hoop/ladder contact, specify the position of the hoop with respect to the ladder bar:

Hoop-ladder bar connections are generated for every hoop. If a welded connection is selected, the software generates site fillet welds with user-defined thicknesses. If a bolted connection is chosen, the following 2 situations may take place:

Under Bolts, specify the bolt diameter and grade. Click Settings to display the Bolt settings dialog.

Under Enter widening, you can define parameters of the cage widening in its lower part. In the current version of the software, the widening is available only to the second type of cage.

The widening may start from the hoop you specify (1 denotes the lowest hoop). You can define the lower hoop radius; dimensions of the intermediate hoops are linearly interpolated.

After you define details of the cage geometry, click the Exit tab to display the Cages - Exit dialog.
