Relax UVs using the Optimize command

To relax UVs using the Optimize command

  1. From the UV Texture Editor toolbar, turn on the distortion shader . See Identify UV distortion.

    The UV Texture Editor shades areas of your UV mesh that are squashed or stretched, making it easy to identify areas that you need to relax.

  2. Select UVs you want to relax.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • From the main menu, select Edit UVs > Optimize > .
    • From the UV Texture Editor menus, select Polygons > Optimize > .
  4. In the Optimize UVs Options window that appears, make adjustments and then click Apply.
    Tip: You can apply the Optimize command multiple times to repeatedly relax the selected UVs.
