Snap the custom pivot to a component

You can use the following to set your object and component pivots to another component.

To snap the custom pivot's position to a component

1. Activate custom pivot editing mode.
2. Click the pivot manipulator's center handle.
3. Shift-click a component.
   

To snap the custom pivot's orientation to a component

1. Activate custom pivot editing mode
2. Ctrl-click a component.
   

To snap the custom pivot's position and orientation to a component

1. Activate custom pivot editing mode
2. Click a component to align the pivot's position and orientation to the selected component.
   
   Tip: By default, pivot position and orientation snap to the selected component. Right-click and disable Snap Pivot Position or Snap Pivot Orientation to change the default behavior.

To snap the custom pivot's position along a single axis

1. Select one of the axis handles (X, Y, Z) on the custom pivot manipulator.
2. Shift-click a component.
   The pivot's position snaps to the selected component along the selected axis.
