Use Collaboration for Revit and Communicator

Use this workflow to understand how to use the cloud, Collaboration for Revit (C4R), and Communicator to collaborate on a model stored in a cloud project.

  1. Locate the email with the invitation to join the BIM 360 Team project.
  2. On BIM 360 Team, join the Team hub and the Team project.
  3. Launch Revit.
  4. In Revit, initiate collaboration by uploading models to the project on the cloud.
  5. On the project page on BIM 360 Team, invite others to join the project.
  6. Open cloud workshared models in Revit and author changes in the model concurrently with other users. See Open a Revit Model.
  7. Use the Synchronize with Central tool to save your changes to the central model. See Synchronize with the Central Model.
  8. Use the Publish Settings tool to select the views and sheets to publish to the cloud. See Select Views to Publish to the Cloud.
  9. Use the Publish command from the Manage Cloud Models tool to publish a model and save changes in the project in the cloud. See Manage Revit Models in the Cloud. Users working in the same model are notified and can see the changes.
  10. Use Communicator to discuss changes in a live chat. The entire team can also interact on the cloud, even if they don't have Revit installed.
