The Scenegraph shows all the nodes of a scene, organized in a tree structure. Imported files are highlighted in green. The root node is at the top of the structure and is a parent to all other nodes in the scene. The root node is a group node and cannot be deleted, renamed, or otherwise edited.
Use the Search box at the top of the Scenegraph to find nodes. Regular expressions are supported.
Show the Scenegraph
There are two ways to show the Scenegraph:
- From the main menu, click
, or;
- Click Graph in the quick access bar.
Dock and undock the Scenegraph
- Click the docking icon
at the top of the Scenegraph window.
Rename a node
- In the Scenegraph, click the node and enter a new name.
Move a node
- Drag the node to its new location in the Scenegraph.
Open a node in the render view
- Drag a node from the Scenegraph into the render view to see the node and its respective objects.
- To restore the whole scene, drag the root node into the Render View.
Find all parent nodes
- When you select a node in the Scenegraph, all its parent nodes turn light blue.
Display Scenegraph in split view
- The dotted line at the bottom of the Scenegraph is a splitting tool. Drag it to show a second view of the Scenegraph. You can drag and drop items between views.
Access other Scenegraph functions
- Use the toolbar at the bottom of the Scenegraph for other functions such as creating, copying and grouping items.
- Use the Scenegraph main menu to edit and create items, and to work with the Scenegraph view.
