The Scenegraph File menu contains these features.
- Add File
- Import geometry into the scene. When adding a VRED scene you can select if the variants, touch sensors, sequences, or environments should be merged.
- Save Selected
- Save the currently selected nodes to a new VRED scene. To save to non-VRED file types, use File > Export from the VRED main menu.
- Reload
-
-
Reload File and Reload All Files: Reload the external files referenced by the selected node. You can choose whether to keep the current materials or use those in the files. VRED creates a new node to replace the one being reloaded. This is because VRED uses a naming scheme for nodes within the hierarchy of the loaded file. If some materials cannot be restored, a message is displayed listing them, and the list is saved to the reload log. (The log is available for the last reload action only.)
- Replace File: Replace the external file referenced by the selected node with a new file.
- Assets
-
Assets are a feature for the usage of external file references. These files are imported to the Scenegraph and are present within its structure. The submenu provides commands to edit these kinds of references.
- Modify: Allows to modify the selected object. The object’s Icon changes from
(asset) to
(modified asset).
- Save in Asset Manager: Saves the selected asset within the asset manager.
- Select all Occurrences: Selects all incidents of the chosen asset in the Scenegraph.
- Find in Asset Manager: Selects the related asset within the asset manager.
- Reload from Asset Manager: Updates the selected asset from the asset manager.
- Remove Reference: Removes the reference connection to the asset manager. The asset itself is deleted using this action.
