Workflow: Fabrication Detailing

Follow this workflow to use Revit to create a model that reflects the fabrication intent, and share it with construction detailers.

Create a fabrication intent model in Revit or convert a design-intent model to a fabrication model in Revit.

1. Specify a fabrication configuration and load services into the model.
2. Add fabrication parts to a Revit model, using one of the following methods:
   • Place fabrication parts directly into the model. Use tools on the ribbon to assist with the placement of parts.
   • Convert design intent, generic duct or pipe parts to fabrication parts.
3. Refine and complete the fabrication model, using one or more of the following methods:
   • Modify the placement of fabrication parts.
   • Edit the dimensions or connectors for a fabrication part.
   • Fill gaps in a fabrication model.
4. Annotate the fabrication model.
