To Migrate Custom Settings From Previous Releases

The Migrate Custom Settings utility is displayed the first time you start the program after an upgrade. You can migrate your custom settings and files from a previous release then, or launch the utility later, from the Windows Start menu or Start screen.

  1. To launch the Migrate Custom Settings utility at a later time, do one of the following:
    • Windows 7: Click the Windows Start button (All) Programs Autodesk <Product Name> Migrate Custom Settings Migrate From a Previous Release.
    • Windows 8: Right-click the Windows Start screen (or use the swipe up gesture from the bottom edge while on the Start screen). Click All Apps Autodesk <Product Name> Migrate Custom Settings Migrate From a Previous Release.
    • Windows 8.1: On the Windows Start screen, click the All Apps button located near the lower-left corner of the screen (or use the swipe up gesture from the bottom edge of the screen). Scroll to the Autodesk section, and click <Product Name> Migrate Custom Settings Migrate From a Previous Release.
    • Windows 10: On the Windows Start menu, click All Apps Autodesk Migrate From a Previous Release.
  2. In the Migrate Custom Settings utility, Migrate Settings and Files From A Previous Release drop-down list, select the release from which you want to migrate.
  3. In the Interface, Settings, and Content area, select the options that represent the custom settings and files to migrate.
  4. Click OK.
  5. In the Migrate Custom Settings message, do one of the following:
    • Click Yes to view the migration log file.
    • Click No to not view the migration log file.
Note: Each time the Migrate Custom Settings utility is used, the application copies the acad.cuix (or acadlt.cuix for AutoCAD LT) file from the UserDataCache folder and then migrates any customization done in the file of the same name from the previous release.
