Change the type, parameters, and labels of your turnouts.
To create a turnout, click Rail tab Turnout panel Create . The Draw Turnout dialog box opens in which you specify the turnout properties before placement.
To change the properties of a turnout after it is placed, you click Rail tab Turnout panel Edit . You then select the turnout to access the Edit Turnout dialog box.
The Draw Turnout and Edit Turnout dialog boxes contain the same editable parameters.
Specifies the rail alignment on which the turnout is placed.
Specifies a station on the destination alignment from which the turnout is drawn.
Allows manual placement of a turnout along a rail alignment. Click at the placement point and then click a second time to specify the side and direction of the turnout.
Specifies which type of turnout will be placed. Select Straight-Line Switch, Arc Switch, Symmetrical straight line, Symmetrical curve, or Crossing. The thumbnail in the dialog box changes to represent the selected turnout type.
Specifies the name of the rail type as defined in the Turnout Catalog. This is typically the curve radius, frog ratio, and rail mass of the turnout. For example, 190-1:9 49.
Specifies an optional description for the turnout. The turnout name is used by default.
Specifies the point along the turnout that is placed at the specified alignment location (station, manually selected point, or the alignment beginning). Select Beginning (1), Middle (2), or End (3). The thumbnail in the dialog box displays the numerical locations of each insertion point.
Specifies the label for the turnout. The turnout label is placed in the drawing as represented in the turnout tables.
Specifies the location of the turnout in relation to the stationing of the specified alignment. Select Left or Right.
Specifies the direction of the layout in relation to the stationing of the specified alignment. Select Forward or Backward.
Specifies the location of the turnout symbol and the direction of the hatch fill in relation to the stationing of the specified alignment. Select Left - Forward, Left - Backward, Right - Forward, or Right - Backward.
Specifies the distance of the clearance point from the insertion point of the turnout.
Specifies a unique alphanumeric identification for the turnout. This is placed as a label near the turnout sign.
Specifies the name of the turnout alignment.
Click the button to open the Alignment Settings dialog box. In this dialog box, you specify Site, Alignment Style, Alignment Label Set, and the Alignment Layer for the turnout alignment.
Click Settings to change label appearance settings for the turnout. From the Variable Settings dialog box, you can enable the visibility and change the colors of the following turnout label elements: Circles, Turnout label, Hatch, GM mark, Circle at the end of s, Turnout text label, and the Serial number.
