A drawing template file is used to provide consistency in the drawings that you create by providing standard style, settings, layers, and border.
- Start a new drawing using the acad.dwt template.

Click .
- Browse to the title block DWG created for the border.
- Click OK.
- Insert at 0,0,0.
Note: Attributes are invisible if no default values are assigned.

Click . Find
- Set the default drawing properties such as component tagging, wire numbering, cross-referencing, and so on.
- Click OK.

Click . Find
- Add wire layers as needed. Set the properties, color, linetype, and lineweight for each layer.
- Click OK.
- Enter SAVEAS at the command prompt.
- Enter the file name.
- Set the file type as AutoCAD Drawing Template (*.dwt).
- Click Save.
