Before you run any of the wizards, you must select a drawing that is typical of the drawings you plan to migrate.
A part drawing you select as a typical drawing must have the following characteristics:
- The location of the title block (relative to the drawing border), in the typical drawing, must be the same as the drawings it typifies.
- The locations of the cells within the title block of the typical drawing, must be the same as the drawings it typifies.
- We recommend that you choose a drawing where the title block cells you intend to extract information from, contain data values (not just labels).
An assembly drawing you select as a typical drawing must have the following additional characteristics:
- The typical drawing, like the drawings it typifies, must contain a manual parts list. Note:
You cannot use a drawing with a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet parts list as the typical drawing.
- The order of columns in the parts list of the typical drawing must be the same as the drawings it typifies.
- If the parts list in the typical drawing does not contain a title row, none of the drawings it typifies should contain a title row. However, if the parts list in the typical drawing contains a title row, the title row is optional for the drawings.
- The first data row of the parts list must not contain empty cells.
- The balloon type in the typical drawing must be the same as that in the drawings it typifies.
