To Add a Component View to an Existing Part (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

1. In the mechanical browser, right-click the component you want to add a new component view to, and click NewComponent View.
2. Press Enter to accept the default component view name or type a different name. The name can include spaces.
   Note:

   If the part is nested under an assembly, you are prompted to specify which view of the assembly owns (acts as the parent) the new component view.

3. In model space, select the objects you want to add to the new component view and press Enter or press Enter (without selecting anything) to create an empty component view.
   Tip:

   • To select an elemental geometry, continue clicking the object until you see the name of the geometry in the tooltip window.
   • To select a folder, continue clicking an object that belongs to the folder, until you see the folder name in the tooltip window.
4. In model space, click to set the base point for the component view. A new component view is created and displayed in the browser.
