Working with add-ins

Add-ins are external scripts and applications that extend the functionality of FeatureCAM and enable you to perform custom tasks.

To run an add-in

To run an add-in you have loaded, select Add-Ins tab > Add-Ins panel > Run Basic Macro, select it in the Run Macro dialog, and click Run.

UDF add-ins are not displayed in the Run Macro dialog, you use them from within the New Feature wizard.

To load an add-in from the add-in library

The add-in library contains all the macros and programming examples that are available with your installation of FeatureCAM.

  1. Select Add-Ins tab > Add-Ins panel > Manage.
  2. In the Macro Add-ins dialog, click Library.

    In the Add-in Library dialog, the left column lists all available macros, categorized by type; macros already available in the Macro Add-ins dialog are marked by a check icon.

  3. Select an add-in from the list to see its description.
  4. Click Load to load the selected add-in. The entry is marked by a plus icon.
  5. Click OK to close the Add-in Library dialog.
  6. In the Macro Add-ins dialog, ensure the check box of the add-in you want to use is selected.
  7. Click OK close the Macro Add-ins dialog.

To load an add-in from a file

  1. Select Add-Ins tab > Add-Ins panel > Manage.
  2. In the Macro Add-ins dialog, click .
  3. Select an add-in and click OK.
  4. In the Macro Add-ins dialog, ensure the check box of the add-in you want to use is selected.
  5. Click OK close the Macro Add-ins dialog.
