Bevel Solder Joint Calculator dialog box - Calculation tab

Sets parameters for calculation of a bevel solder joint.

Loads

Enter the force carried by the joint or the torque in the stepped joint. The direction of load action is shown in the diagram of the solder joint in the dialog window.

Dimensions

Enter dimensions of connected materials. The picture of the weld joint contains the most important geometric joint dimensions specified in the Dimensions section. Forces and moments which load the joint and which are entered in the Loads section are represented in the same way.

Joint Material and Properties

Select the check box to open the Material Database and select a material. Edit the properties of the material, if needed.

Tension Safety Factor

Specifies the Tension Safety Factor value you enter or select in the dialog box that opens when you click the arrow beside the input field. The recommended range of appropriate coefficients is displayed in the dialog box.

Results

Presents assessments of the joint strength, including the results of the strength check, in the Results section. If input parameters are changed, refresh the values in this section by clicking Calculate (F5 key).

Summary of Messages area

Displays the reports about calculations. To open the Summary of Messages areas at the bottom of the tab, double-click the double line at the bottom of tabs or click the chevron.
