Working with sets

Store the values used to define existing supports and apply them to new ones, or to modify others.

Some on-screen text has been changed, and the default sets cannot be changed anymore. Instead, you can now store your own sets.

All these tasks make use of the Edit tab in the context view of the support module.

To use a set during manual support creation

Simply keep the set selected in the context view, on the Edit tab, when placing new support entities, either by generating supports through the cluster's context menu, or by manually adding individual support entities.

To manage sets

Sets can be duplicated, exported in XML format, imported, and renamed by using the respective options in the set options. We recommend to export your sets regularly as there is no confirmation whenever overwriting a set with values from a selection or an import.

Of course, you can also delete any of your custom sets.

Restriction: You cannot rename or delete the Default Sets 1-3.

To update an existing set

Restriction: You cannot update the Default Sets 1-3, those are fixed for legacy reasons.
  1. Select the support entity you want to capture.
  2. From the Manual defaults dropdown menu, select the set to update.
  3. Click the set options button next to the dropdown menu, then choose Selection → …, with … being the name of the set to update.
Tip: Select multiple support types to store them all at once. However, make sure not to have conflicting supports selected, such as two bar supports with different property values each. Only one of them is stored, and you cannot choose which one.
