Use the
Corner Finishing strategy to machine multiple-trace toolpath on the unmachined corners.
PowerMill uses an accurate rest model to determine the unmachined areas.
This strategy is useful for cleaning up corners that occur between non-tangential surfaces using multiple traces.
Note: You can choose whether the toolpath follows or cuts across the trace lines. You can choose different options for the steep and shallow portions.
The corner toolpath follows the contour of corner in the shallow regions and stitches the steep regions. There are several pages associated with the
Corner Finishing strategy.
-
Corner finishing — The main page used to define a corner toolpath.
-
High speed — Settings to create arcs in internal corners to eliminate sudden changes in tool direction which is essential for high speed machining.
-
Corner detection — Settings to determine the location and extents of the toolpath.
-
Automatic verification — Settings to automatically verify the toolpath when calculating it.
