Use the Audit function periodically to maintain the health of a Revit model, when preparing to upgrade the software, or as needed to locate and correct issues.
The Audit function scans, detects, and fixes corrupt elements in the model. It does not provide feedback on which elements are fixed.
Auditing a model can be time-consuming, so be prepared to wait while the process completes.
As a best practice, audit the model weekly. If the model is changing rapidly, audit it more often.
In addition to auditing models, you can also use this function to audit families and templates.
To audit a model
If the model is work-shared, instruct all users to exit the model.
For a workshared model, navigate to and select the central model.
If you are working with a workshared model, exit the central model, and inform users that they can resume their work.
