When you open a model, you can set options to audit the model for corrupt elements, detach the local model from a central workshared model, or create a new local copy of the central model. Use
Revit Home
to open a model or a specific version of a model from
Autodesk Docs.
Important: Revit models are not backwards-compatible. When you create or modify a model using the current release of the software, you cannot open the model later using a previous release.
- On Revit Home, under Models, click Open.
As an alternative, from the ribbon, click File tabOpen (Project).
- In the Open dialog, navigate to the folder where the model resides.
- To see only files of a certain type, select that type from the Files of type drop-down list.
- Select the desired option(s):
- Select the model, and click Open.
In the Preview pane, the dialog displays the
Revit release that was last used to save the file.
