Install the Autodesk Vault Server

After you install SQL, you must configure Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) to work with the Vault Server.

After all roles are configured, you can begin installing Vault Server.

The Vault Server communicates using port 80. Some installed software running on port 80 can cause conflicts with Autodesk Vault communication. To avoid conflicts when installing the Vault Server, configure the server to use an open port between 1 and 65535.

When installing the Vault Server on a machine that uses a custom default web site and port 80, follow one of these steps:

• Change the port of the default web site to another number and restart the server installation.
• Remove the default web site and restart the server installation.

If you are planning to use Windows authentication within Vault Professional when using Windows Server Operating Systems, the Windows Authentication service for IIS must be installed.

Select your operating system from the list below to proceed with the IIS configuration and Vault Server installation.

Note: If you are installing Autodesk Vault for the first time and do not expect to customize your installation, refer to the Quick Start Installation section.
