Change the Reference for a Spot Elevation

A spot elevation can report elevations from the project base point, survey point, or relative to a specified level.

  1. Add a spot elevation to a drawing, and then select it.
  2. On the Properties palette, click (Edit Type).
  3. Under Constraints, specify the Elevation Base as Relative, Project Base Point, or Survey Point.
    • Relative: Allows you to specify for each tag instance what level the elevation is reported relative to.
      • For floor plans and ceiling plans, when the tag's instance property Relative Base is set to Current Level, the elevation will be reported relative to the Associated Level property of the view.
      • For other view types (Sections, Elevations, 3D Views), Current Level refers to the Project Internal Origin.
    • Project Base Point and Survey Point: All instances of types with these options will report elevations related to the associated datum.
