Create a Precast Division Profile

Learn how to model a division profile.

1. Create a new Family from the (Metric) Division Profile.rfa template.
   
   
   

2. Draw the profile: Create Detail Line. The profile must be defined left of the vertical reference plane, it must start from the bottom of the reference plane and end on top of the reference plane and it must be a continuous line. For example:

   
   
   

   The vertical reference plane is the edge of the hollow core element.

3. Usually it will be necessary to create a profile for each floor thickness, since it is difficult to define which part should change when the profile is used with another thickness.
4. Save the family, in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2023 Release\Families\[LANGUAGE]\Structural Precast\Hollow Core Slab\Profiles as Profile A.rfa, for example.
