Add lifecycle states to a lifecycle to meet your design process needs.
- Open the
Lifecycle Definition for which you want to create or add a lifecycle state.
- Click the Plus (+) in the Lifecycle Details section to add a new lifecycle state.
- On the New Lifecycle State dialog, enter a name, color, and description for the new state.
- Click OK to add the new state.
Note: The requisite transitions are added automatically.
- The first state added to the lifecycle definition is automatically the default. To set another state as the default, select it and click Set Default.
- Select the new state and click the
Transitions tab to modify the default transitions.
- Select the
Security tab to configure security for the selected state.
- Select the
Control tab and configure whether your state is a Released or Obsolete state. You can also identify how purges handle controlled versions of objects in this state.
- Select the
Comments tab and Add, Edit, or Remove any comments about the state or changes that have been made.
- Use the Up or Down arrows to reorder lifecycle states. The order of the states in the lifecycle definition is the same order that is displayed in the Change State dialog.
- Click OK to save your changes and close the dialog.
