To Draw Pipes that Cross an Alignment in Profile View

You can see which gravity pipes and pressure network pipes cross an alignment by reviewing the profile view properties of the profile for that alignment. You can also draw the crossing pipes in profile view and specify a different style for them.

  1. Create an alignment and a profile view. Specify at least one pipe network or pressure network to be drawn in the profile view when creating the profile view, or add one to the profile view after the profile view is created.
  2. Select the profile view, right-click, and click Profile View Properties.
  3. In the Profile View Properties dialog box, on the Pipe Networks tab, select Show Only Crossing Pipes.

This setting filters the list of pipes so that only the pipes that cross the alignment are listed. This setting affects gravity pipes and pressure pipes, but not structures, fittings, or ancillaries.

    • When the Show Only Crossing Pipes check box is selected and the Show Only Parts Drawn In Profile View check box is cleared, the list of parts is filtered to show the pipes that cross the alignment. Pipes that cross the alignment are always shown, regardless of their Draw status. You can select the Draw check box to draw crossing pipes in the profile view, and you can specify a different style for the crossing pipes. If the pipe network or pressure network contains no crossing pipes, then the network name is not listed.
    • When both the Show Only Crossing Pipes and the Show Only Parts Drawn In Profile View check box are selected, the resulting list only shows the pipes that are drawn in the profile view and also cross the alignment.
