To Transparently Use a Profile Chainage and a Level to Specify a Point Location

You can specify the X and Y coordinates for a point by identifying a chainage along the parent alignment of the profile view.

Specify the alignment chainage and the point level either graphically or numerically.

  1. When you are prompted to enter a point in a command, do one of the following:
    • Click Transparent tab Profile panel Station From Plan Find.
    • Right-click to display the Transparent Commands context menu Chainage From Plan.
    • Activate the transparent command toolbar and select Profile Chainage From Plan .
    • Enter 'stae.
  2. If the main command is not a profile layout or profile view label command, select a profile view.
  3. In plan view, select an alignment.
  4. Specify a chainage on the alignment by either entering the chainage value or clicking a point on or near the alignment in plan view.

    A selection marker displays the current location on the alignment.

  5. Select the profile view again.
  6. Specify a level in the profile view by either entering a level value or clicking a point in the profile view.

    In the profile view, a selection marker displays the current level. The chainage location is held at the chainage you selected.

  7. Do one of the following:
    • Enter another chainage and level.
    • Press Esc to end the transparent command.
