This tutorial covers the process of lighting and rendering a scene using an HDR map with the Arnold renderer. We will run through how to realistically light a toy car model using the skydome_light.
The skydome_light is particularly useful for rendering scenes that require realistic HDRI based exterior lighting. We will also look at creating realistic materials for our model using the standard_surface shader as a basis. Finally, we will use some of Arnold's camera attributes to add some depth of field and look at which render settings to use before rendering the final image.
The HDRI used in this tutorial can be downloaded here.
