If the symbols provided with AutoCAD Mechanical toolset do not meet your requirements, you can create custom symbols and attach them to the object you are annotating. Whenever you move the object, the attached symbol moves with it.
User defined symbols work only in layout and hence are suitable for use with drawing views. They cannot be used in model space.
